February 21, 1977
Christ Alive Community Church, then known as MCC Vancouver, had its first service at the apartment of Rev. Bob Wolfe and Larry Gauer.

May 1977
The church moved to the Scottish Auditorium that was located at Fir and 12thAve.

December 1979
The church moved to the chapel of Canadian Memorial Church for our Christmas Eve service and eventually moved to the main Sanctuary due to a lack of space in the chapel.

We rented space with the Gay and Lesbian Centre at 525 Seymour St.

October 1986
The congregation was on the move again as we relocated to St. Paul’s Anglican Church at the corner of Pendrell and Jervis St.

December 1991
The church moved to St. James United Church in Kitsilano.

October 1998
We moved to Central Presbyterian Church. We worshipped in the lounge until we moved to the Sanctuary in January of 2000 where we still worship today.

MORE ABOUT OUR NAME

February 1977
The new church adopted the name MCC Vancouver

February 1990
MCC Vancouver changed its name to Christ Alive MCC.

July 1, 2002
Christ Alive MCC became independent and changed its name to Christ Alive Community Church
